Bath University is internationally renowned for the quality of its research. Deciding to further enhance its facilities, the university management sought to create a world-class research environment comprising a lecture theatre and a suite of clean rooms, complete with the latest state of the art services and specialist equipment.

With its experience of working in the educational sector and bringing projects to completion on time, Bath University were satisfied that G&H could meet their demanding time frames and awarded them the contract after a competitive bidding process.

Despite the difficult logistics of a site office and compound more than 400 metres from the site itself, G&H worked pro-actively to minimise student disturbance, erecting a steel framed two storey building finished with a steel sheet and cedar clad exterior. A specially constructed plant room was built to deliver a complex array of services, including compressed air and air conditioning to each of the clean rooms.

The project was completed on budget and the site was handed-over, ready for each area to be fitted out with the appropriate specialist equipment. As a result Bath University now has the innovative, leading edge facility that will further enhance its international reputation.
