Community
We believe that engaging with communities is fundamental to reducing the impact of our presence. Our strong family ethos permeates into the communities that we live and work in and we always endeavour to leave a positive impression with local people, businesses and councils.
As a commitment to reducing the impact of construction on communities and the environment, we are actively promoting the use of modular construction to our clients.
Using this innovative modular build system we are able to erect buildings up to 25% quicker than traditional build methods, not only a considerable step in reducing the environmental impact of construction projects but also allowing our clients speed to completion.
And in response to low emissions and climate change, environmental modelling tools show that the modular construction offers lower material miles, minimises waste products and reduces site deliveries by up to 12%.
On site
Whilst on site our teams continually liaise with community leaders to ensure that an open dialogue is maintained. We always communicate regularly via newsletters and letterdrops to keep local people up to date with key project milestones and potential disturbances.
G&H Group also register their sites with the Considerate Constructors Scheme; our conduct is regularly assessed against the eight point Code of Considerate Practice including:
1. Considerate
2. Environment
3. Cleanliness
4. Good neighbour
5. Respectful
6. Safe
7. Responsible
8. Accountable
With a skills shortage in the construction industry, introducing and involving young people in our projects is one of our key priorities. As well as working closely with local schools, many of our senior management team are School Governors and longstanding members of the Curriculum Centre. We believe that this in-depth understanding and knowledge of the education system and its priorities adds value to projects, particularly in the education sector.
